Law Enforcement Academy Tuition and Costs

Evening Academy Tuition

Auxiliary/Special Function and Basic Corrections (Module 1): $1,750 Cost includes textbooks and other supplies, a non-refundable $100.00 deposit, and $50.00 POST background check fee. Law Enforcement Officer (Module 2): $3,100 Cost includes textbooks, a non-refundable $100.00 deposit and an additional $50.00 background check fee may be assessed if it has been more than 6 months since a POST background clearance. Required Equipment is an additional cost. See Equipment List for estimated costs.  

Daytime Academy Tuition

Combined training (Modules 1 and 2): $4,850 Cost includes textbooks, a non-refundable $100.00 deposit and $50.00 POST background check fee. Required Equipment is an additional cost. See Equipment List for estimated costs.  

Background Check

There is a $20.00 finger-print card processing fee involved in completing the Background Clearance Application.  Personal check, cashiers check or money order made payable to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. This is required the first week of class.

PAYMENT PLAN

WSU’s Law Enforcement Academy offers a 4-payment plan for those cadets who prefer the flexibility of paying over time. The tuition for the module is divided into 4 equal payments. The first payment is due by the first day of class. The other three payments are due monthly from that point. Contact Shari Feekes for information about the payment plan at 801-395-3412. FINANCIAL AID

There is no financial aid or assistance offered through Weber State unless you are a registered student and maintain that standard while you attend the academy. GI BILL Veterans may use their GI Bill entitlement to pay for the Police Academy depending on individual eligibility. Veterans should bring a receipt of payment from the Police Academy showing enrollment, and the other documents listed on Services for Veteran Students website (www.weber.edu/veterans) under “How To Start Your GI Bill”, to the Services for Veteran Students office in Miller Administration Building room 310. (801) 626-6039. UTAH DEPARTMENT OF WORKFORCE SERVICES The Utah DWS may provide financial assistance for qualified students. The Ogden office handles most of the job training in the area.
