The WSU Storytelling Festival, Annual Story Teaching Symposium will provide opportunities for teachers, parents, and storytellers to learn, through practical and engaging experiences, about the potential benefits of storytelling in addressing core language arts competencies and about best practices in telling stories to children and teaching children to tell stories.
Objectives:
The focus of the conference is to train both elementary and secondary teachers in the art of teaching via storytelling. This is part of the Storytelling festival. The Education department will be bringing in a national person to help kick-off what they hope will be an annual conference.
