Description:
This course addresses quality from the perspective of the production line inspector in a manufacturing/machining environment. Students demonstrate competency in applied statistics, use of inspection tools, inspection techniques and methods, and nonconforming material control. Students also address the concepts of total quality management and other quality-related issues. Course also helps prepare the student for the Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) examination.

  • Understand technical mathematics
  • Become proficient in blueprint reading and defect identification
  • Review statistics and sampling plans
  • Learn inspection planning/technology
