This course is an introduction to the devices, systems and applications used in multimedia and the Internet World Wide Web. This course uses both UNIX and Microsoft Windows operating systems. Topics covered include multimedia systems design, data and file format standards, compression and decompression techniques, video and image display systems, web browsers, HTML, CGI, ACTIVE X, VRML and web page editors. An advanced course is also available.
