Description:

This course will use the August 2023 published book, The Girls Who Fought Crime, by Major General (retired) Mari K. Eder to find past examples of the spokes of the 2023 Utah initiative, A Bolder Way Forward.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify the 5 Areas of Focus and each of the 18 spokes in the Bolder Way Forward Initiative.
  • Identify an example of at least 5 past problems identified in MG Eder's book as an example of a specific spoke in the Bolder Way Forward Initiative.
  • Participate in 5 Zoom sessions each week on Wednesday at 4:00 PM.

  • Attend the MG Eder presentation on April 17th, 2024, at the WSU Ogden Campus, in Lindquist Hall, Room 101, 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Students will have the opportunity to ask a question regarding the book and its application to the future improvements in society.
  • Please Note: Students in this class will need to purchase the book "The Girls Who Fought Crime: The Untold True Story of the Country's First Female Investigator and Her Crime Fighting Squad" by Maj. Gen. Mari K. Eder, August 2023.
