Professional DevelopmentCourse Details

This American Avalanche Association-accredited certification course is intended for individuals wishing to learn rescue skills in avalanche terrain, whether backcountry skiing and snowboarding, snowshoeing, or mountaineering. All modes of backcountry travel are welcomed in this course and no experience is required.  Snowshoes can be provided free of charge as part of the course. Ski/splitboard touring gear can be rented locally through the WSU Outdoor Program and other local rental shops. Classroom and practical skills sessions will both take place on Saturday.
