Enhance Your Online/Hybrid Teaching Toolbox

You know what good teaching is. Now is the time to transfer those skills to online and hybrid learning environments. Weber State is offering opportunities to enhance your online education repertoire. Take the K-12 Instructional Design course over five months to earn the certificate. Those who complete the course will earn two credits from MED 6130: Topics in Education. Register soon. The deadline to register for the combined course is June 30. These courses are non-credit until the certificate is earned, then MED 6130 is awarded.

Online & Hybrid classes are the future

This five-module sequence will prepare K-12 teachers to build the online/hybrid classrooms of today by using:
  • Blended learning and backward design as a classroom outline
  • Goals and objectives to drive the content
  • Characteristics of the students to determine learning methods
  • Appropriate online engagement activities including learning activities, assignments, copyright laws
  • Best practices in:
    • Understanding online student-instructor engagement
    • Humanizing your online course
    • Visual design, usability, and aesthetic principles
    • Identifying useful video
    • Tips and tricks for recording instructional videos
