Game Design for Teens

Learn JavaScript by creating your own browser games! Students will be led by an instructor (plus helpers) to write JavaScript code using local text editors. They will learn about objects, variables, if statements, randomizing and much more. Students learn to code two different games and then customize them. The camp is for ages 12-18 and requires basic keyboarding skills. No previous coding knowledge needed.
Recommended ages: 12-18.

Make Your Own Minecraft Mod

Use Java to create your own custom Minecraft mod! Students will see all of Minecraft's code and learn how to add their own Java files to add new items, blocks, tools, armor, weapons, mobs and so much more. Students will gain a working knowledge of Java and how to add and edit new classes, super classes, constructors, objects and methods. The camp is for ages 12-18 and requires basic keyboarding skills.

Filmmaking Camp

Students at our one-week filmmaking bootcamp will eat, drink and breathe moviemaking. This summer camp takes students through the entire film-making process in just five days. Students will have the opportunity to write, direct, shoot and edit in a hands-on environment working together in small groups to produce their own short films. Students will learn the basics of lighting, sound, writing, cinematography and editing. For junior high and high school students.
Recommended ages: 12-18.

3-D Printer Camp

This camp will guide the student through the process of creating a three-dimensional model from a medical imaging computed tomography dataset. This hands-on learning lab teaches the student the process of image data acquisition, 3-D computer image manipulation and 3-D printing. For high school students. Recommended ages: 15-18

Band Camp

Enjoy making music and friends on the beautiful campus of Weber State University. This camp will provide many learning opportunities under the direction of WSU’s world-class faculty and teachers. The camp is open to junior high students entering 7th, 8th, 9th or 10th grade who have studied a wind or percussion instrument for at least one year.
Limited enrollment - register early

Print and sign for each child. Bring it with you on the first day of camp.

Parents are responsible for canceling their child's registration should they not be able to attend. The fee will not be refunded for nonattendance. Cancellations received prior to the first day of class, will receive a 100% refund. No refunds, in whole or in part, will be given on or after the first day of class.
