Description:
Being an effective manager means adopting three distinct but cohesive roles: boss, leader, and mentor. In today’s workplace, with flatter organizations, an employee must be able to fill all of these roles and identify what role is appropriate for what situation. In addition to the basics of each role, the impact of technology in that specific function will be addressed.
Objectives:
  • Understand how to be an effective supervisor in getting the job done, exercising discipline and meeting deadlines
  • Examine new ideas and techniques that move beyond the traditional management role
  • Learn to exercise influence over people as an effective leader in areas such as developing and promoting organizational vision, adaptive leadership styles, and effective goal development
  • Develop mentoring skills
  • Review the current business climate and understand how to manage available organization resources for maximum efficiency
