As a cadet, you are responsible for purchasing required technology, equipment and uniforms.
Technology
Laptops are required for participation in the WSU Law Enforcement Academy.
Laptop rentals are available through the academy for $150. When you complete your program, you will recieve a $25 refund (restrictions apply). Call 801-395-3412 for more information.

Uniform

- Navy Uniform Shirt over white t-shirt
- Navy BDU Tactical Pants
- Black boots (plain, with no insignias, and must be able to be shined)
- Official t-shirt with academy logo and name printed on the back
- Academy shorts
- Spats compression leggings
- Mouth guard
- Approved sparring gloves
- Wrestling shoes (optional)
- Official T-shirt with academy logo and name printed on the back
- Academy shorts OR sweatpants w/ compression shorts or spats

Uniform & Supply Lists
Specific uniforms and equipment are required for each academy block. Requirements vary between the Special Function Officier (SFO)/Basic Corrections Officer (BCO) block and the Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) block.

LEO Uniform and Equipment
Cadets attending the Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) block must bring all equipment required for the SFO/BCO block plus the following items:Item Quantity Full-size or compact duty handgun (mid-size duty firearm) 1 Duty holster with level II (or higher) retention (SERPA-style holsters are not permitted) 1 Magazine pouch (open-top preferred) 1 Firearm magazines Minimum of 3 Handheld flashlight 1 Flashlight holder 1 Firearm Notes- Weapon-mounted lights are permitted but do not replace the requirement for a handheld flashlight.
- Red dot optics or other duty-rated pistol optics are permitted.
- Firearms and equipment must be duty-grade and appropriate for law enforcement training.
